Sleek polished concrete surfaces, hand-troweled micro-cement overlays, and seamless cement-look flooring systems for contemporary layouts.
At FloorLab, we specialize in high-durability polished concrete. We grind concrete slabs to remove laitance, expose the underlying aggregate, and apply chemical densifiers to increase abrasion resistance by 40%. We offer four distinct aggregate exposure classes to fit your design:
Minimal grinding that exposes only the cement paste. Yields a smooth, solid, monochromatic look with tiny surface variations.
Light grinding to expose fine sand and tiny aggregate particles. Creates a classic, subtle textured look resembling terrazzo.
Moderate grinding to expose larger stones and aggregate. Ideal for high-end showrooms and striking architectural designs.
Deep grinding exposing maximum stone size. Offers a rugged, bold industrial-modern texture with ultimate structural strength.
Compare the two premium seamless finishes to select the perfect application for your project constraints.
The direct grinding, densifying, and polishing of an existing structural concrete slab. Suitable for ground floors with solid concrete substrates and commercial spaces.
A thin, polymer-modified cementitious overlay troweled by hand. Can be applied over timber, old tiles, screed, or drywall, on both floors and walls.
Concrete overlays and polished floors require flat bases. In compliance with the SANS 10070 code of practice, we verify that concrete sub-floors have a level tolerance of under 2mm over 3 meters. High spots are ground down with planetary grinders, and structural cracks are stitched with high-strength epoxy.
We test all concrete bases digitally to guarantee relative humidity is within the safe thresholds before laying overlays.
